Daniel Igirimbazi

Honorary Research Fellow and Data Manager

Daniel is a recent graduate from the University of Rwanda with a bachelor’s degree in Biology, option of Botany and Conservation, currently working as an Honorary Research Fellow at the Center of Excellence in Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management (CoEB). He is interested in Data Management, as well as the land use/cover changes around protected areas. At university, Daniel was a chief editor of a Huye campus-based international club (Japan-Rwanda Youth Cooperation) blog, he was a field assistant to a PhD student from July to August 2018 working on Nyungwe Chimpanzee Project, in December 2019, he presented his poster in AfricaGIS 2019 conference held at the University of Rwanda. At the CoEB, Daniel assists in different activities such as organizing bimonthly CoEB Research Seminar series, coordinating CoEB weekly staff meetings, and tracking grant opportunities for the CoEB.
