The CoE is designed as an independent platform of institutions, known as nodes, coordinated by a central hub. The hub is hosted by the University of Rwanda-Huye Campus because of its biodiversity and natural resources management-related assets.
Specific functions of the hub:
- The hub plays a catalytic role in coordinating the functions of the CoE.
- The hub coordinates all activities in the network of nodes
- The hub formulates and develops plans and programs for the CoE
- The hub oversees the operations of the nodes
